Nitrogen
When Obi Wan Kenobi says about the Force that “it surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together,” he might as well have talked about Nitrogen. Okay, well, maybe it doesn’t bind the whole galaxy together. But it makes up 80% of our atmosphere, so it absolutely surrounds and penetrates us. And we would experience significant issues, if we’d lose 80% of our atmosphere. I wonder what would happen in such a theoretic scenario. Obviously, atmospheric pressure would drop significantly. Would we still be able to breathe? Would there still be the same amount of oxygen per breath taken? I guess we could scrap all airplanes, if we only had 20% of atmospheric pressure. Fortunately, it’s just a mental exercise!

20% presssure in pure oxygen is no problem for humans and most other animals. And with runways long enough for planes that fly at FL300. But it also means that basic metals would become inflammable, which would cause lots of issues
This said, don’t give the nitrogen bottle to the average chucks around you. Between those who forgot to close them (so it is empty for the next use), and worse, those who let them fall and break the pressure relief valve and gauges attached to it…..I have not had one going through the roof yet, but it might well happen if I don’t hand them over the bicycle pump instead
The 4th panel has a nice Dr. Strangelove angle to it…
