Exclusive Images of Felix Baumgartners jump!

Never before seen images of Felix Baumgartners record breaking jump!
They must have cut to commercial while Felix was zipping past Chucks Cessna with everybody still trying to figure out what happened. But you saw them here first, at Roost-Air!

With a fellow Austrian helicopter pilot doing something epic like this, we can’t let that event slip past Chuck and Julio. And of course Chuck and Julio once again would find themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time. I wonder if they were getting arrested again like back in DC when they busted the Whitehouse TFR …

Either way, we were all glued to the TV the whole day. I really felt like we were witnessing aviation history in the making last Sunday. Way to go, Felix!

Why do I feel like having a Red Bull all of a sudden?

Was this why the first jump got cancelled?

    nice one mates!

I’ve got to get that on a coffee mug!!!!

  5. JP says:

Glad to hear Joe Kittinger’s voice helping Felix along in this too. Joe did his jumps way back to see if the astronauts could survive bailing out

Oddball: weather caused the delays … going up in New Mexico and coming down several states away were not part of the plans, nor was a balloon bursting and Felix being stuck in the capsule on decent (Felix suffers from claustrophobia, and needed a ton of help keeping him occupied so he wouldn’t freak out again)

Oh man you boys are QUICK! Of course if you were smart you would have got Felix to wear a baseball cap. IF you were smart…..

  7. Fabo says:

Mike, you are not the only one. I just HAD to buy a redbull the other day too.

    a Roost-Air baseball cap?

  9. mike says:

Yeah, I guess we can’t be smart AND fast at the same time. Something has to give 😉
    “Fast” won!
But maybe we’ll have him in another strip in the future. Although it sounds like he’s “been there, done that” and moving on…..

    Time for a Red Bull!

Wow Roost Air has the first pressurized Cessna 180! Otherwise they would not survive in 12000 ft.

  11. Andre Goulao says:

Been there, done that! LEAS – LPPR there is a corridor (G41) that goes over some hills, and ATC won’t allow you to go under FL105, and because it is westbound, you have to do it at FL120! Nothing special, because it is only 127nm…
    Done it on a Beech33!

  12. mike says:

What do you mean “not survive”? The C-172’s I flew had a service ceiling of 13,500ft. And I’ve landed a helo at 11,500 before without any problems. Now, I admit I’m not gonna run a marathon at this altitude but it’s not quite a “survival” situation quite yet either…
And as long as he doesn’t drift to 12,001ft Chuck (for once!) is even within the FAR 91 regulations for flying without oxygen. And getting close to the limit might have been why Julio was pointing out the altitude 😉

  13. GuyD says:

Stupid me, I changed feets and meters! Well, I am European, so I think metric…
