Being number 15 for take-off is bad, but being number 10 entering the downwind leg (my personal record @LFPZ) is pretty hot. The miracle is that well handled, it works with noone required to go around. 2 grass runways, one landing on each each 50 seconds. Sunday evenings can be pretty busy there

  2. Reminds me of being around 10-12 in the queue of GA aircraft for the runway when they declared a 180 degree reversal due to winds changing. We were beside the centre taxiway (used to be a runway) and my instructor said “left turn now, best speed to the other end” as I got a lesson in high-speed taxiing of a Cessna 152. We wound up #3 to go as all the folks who were formerly in front of us now wound up behind us. So much fun 🙂

In a microlight Aircraft, at a very busy airfield over the Isle of Man, during the Manx TT races, I was told that I was number two behind a Bae 146, I asked for a greater separation, and was told “do whatever you want” I could see another 146 in the offing, with yet more behind him. Elected to land on a different runway, problem solved. ATC Controller did respond to my question that “yes, unfortunately we were being recorded” but was happy with my report of “late final for runway 23”. All conflicts resolved.

All ATC were fired a lunatic, the same who is now controlling the tower with his gang.
