Replace the GPS
High time for a new strip! Sorry for the radio silence! I have no new excuses. Still playing catch-up with everything … work, family, house, life.
I love new technical gadgets as much as the next guy, but I’m one of those people who tends to hold on to a device as long as possible and rather try to repair than to replace it. However, I’m slowly shifting towards the “throw it out and buy a new one” lifestyle, because everything keeps getting smaller and more integrated. Used to be that you could re-solder a knob that’s gotten lose on the circuit board of a radio, for instance. Now it seems, everything is just chips and a screen in a plastic case, and if it’s broken, the best I can do is try to replace the battery or give it a shake, haha.
I mean, on one hand it’s kinda sad, but the upside is obviously awesome and cheap technology. Worth the trade, overall, I think! I still have enough non-tech stuff to fix around the house …
