Requesting altitudes
Well, it doesn’t hurt to ask. It took me a while to learn that a lot of things are possible or available, if you just ask for them. It’s important to not cross the line between being bold and being a nuisance, which is sometimes not that clearly defined and often subjective. So I usually rather err on the side of restraint. It helps a lot if you’re being polite though. It seems politeness makes a difference. Something I try to teach my kids, too: being polite costs nothing and gets you way further. Hasn’t landed with them yet, but then again, neither have they.

The brain doesn’t work very well in thin air, either.
