Living in tumultuous times

There’s this famous Chinese curse that goes like “May you live in interesting times!” At least I’ve read it many times before. I’m not knowledgeable enough in Chinese history to tell if it’s real or just well invented, like the old Confucian saying of “don’t trust everything you read on the internet.” Anyway, I sometimes get the impression that I do live in interesting times indeed. But I have no idea which Chinese person has cursed me and what I have done to him/her to deserve this.

I’m just kidding anyway. My life is pretty good and I can count my blessings. Most negativity comes from the cacophony of shrill news and “content” we seem to be constantly bombarded with. I feel like I’m getting better at tuning out all that noise and focus on my personal environment. I hope I haven’t jinxed it now!
