That feeling of being watched
Alexa, am I being surveilled 24/7? … I don’t use Alexa, but I have Siri installed on my iPhone. I don’t use Siri either, but every now and then she feels I addressed her and starts up. Which means, the phone is listening to me all the time. I usually don’t think about it, but when I do, it’s kinda spooky.
And it happened to me more than once, that my wife and I were talking about something, and when I decided to google the subject, google already prompts me the complete search query after only entering two characters. Or I start seeing related ads to the subject without ever having actually searched for it.
I freely admit that I’m not extremely careful with my data, but I’m getting more and more suspicious and mindful in spurts and take little steps to improve the situation. Alas, those spurts never last, and only a couple of days later I get annoyed that somebody isn’t using WhatsApp and I have to text them a regular text message. It’s one of those hundred areas in which one vows to improve oneself, but never actually finds the time to go through with it.
Well, as badly as I am being tracked, at least I haven’t been intercepted by F-15s!
Yet.

Sometimes I’m a bit confused. I mean, the PRISM program, with all that follows, was exposed by Edward Snowden in 2013. And yet, so many people keep buying and using all sorts of devices and services developed and released by the very companies involved in PRISM. I keep asking why, but I have yet to hear a convincing answer.
As for old Chuck, there’s no doubt: he’s a good teacher, at least of matters strictly related to his personal interpretation of General Aviation. Jason, in fact, brilliantly manages to reproduce all sorts of dire situations in which Chuck is used to get himself into. From this, it must also follow that Jason is a good student.
Bugs Bunny : Listen, Dracula… Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched? Like the eyes of strange things are upon you? Look, out there in the audience.
Bugs Bunny : [Bug then starts speaking, extra slowly and almost whispers] Look, out there, in the audience.
Gossamer : PEEEE-PLE! Aieeeeeeee!
[Gossamer then runs away through the laboratory walls screaming]
