I wonder how many inventions and scientific breakthroughs have been made in similar circumstances as Chuck’s R&D in this strip, i.e. the loose safety measures being actually conductive to progress. I mean, yes, in many cases you’d end up with useless scrap and yes, in many cases the scientists have come to serious harm … wait, I guess I know why it’s better to have those safety measures in place.
