“SQUAWK 7700”

If you have ever thought of making airline flying your career or you are generally interested how the industry works I highly recommend this book.

It is not the classic “Chicken Wings style” humor book but rather a look backstage on what you are in for should you choose to fly for a living. This book is an eye-opener about how the business really works and Peter, who is personal friend of ours, is a driving force in making aviation a safer place. Embark on a journey with him and follow his career from dreaming about flying as a little boy all the way to flying for the airlines. You might get a slight “reality check” reading this book but we know many pilots who now wish they knew more about the industry before they started making their dream of flying the big planes come true.

The foreword was written by Jeff Skiles, who was the co-pilot on the Hudson Miracle landing of US Airways Flight 1649.

The “reality shock” can be quite a big deal in aviation. I, too, think it’s very interesting to have people who want to follow the career get informed before they sign up at an aviation school.

I’ve been at my local flight club for quite a while now, and I can’t recount how many times I’ve seen people signing up for the PPL courses, then after a couple of weeks, realizing that the real thing is quite a bit different from movies and TV, and eventually bailing out.

A book like this is an excellent idea, in my opinion. I wish success to the authors!
