Range extension bottle

Almost every Air-Attack pilot has a soda bottle or other form of range-extender story. You need a good bladder for that job. And I have found that Gatorade bottles are way better because of the bigger neck 🙂 Luckily I fly helicopters where you can just land, and I have done that plenty times as well.
But I guess the proper sequence should be 1) drink Gatorade, 2) water plants, 3) save in the airplane.
Don’t mess up the sequence!

Especially if you think about that the liquid of part 3 could have the same color as Gatorade!

Not nearly the same effect for us female flyers.

I saw a “lady adapter” in one of the pilot stores for the red “range extender bottle”…..
However, I didn’t put too much thought into how it works 😉

A guy flying gliders in Magaliesberg South Africa used to run a tube from the cockpit with a funnel on it, to the back where it vented out the side, so he didn’t need to worry about a bottle. However this apparantly didn’t vent into space but ran along the fuselage and into the landing gear and corroded it, so the next service cost more than anticipated!

I’ve seen “the tube” before. When I was working for the Cessna Service Center we had a 182RG with a tube. We told the new guy the tube was for the mechanics to communicate when the plane is up on jacks for swinging the gear and he was to yell into the tube from under the belly so the guy inside the cockpit can hear him . . .
    (gross, I know) 😉

Must be: 1 – drink Gatorade, 2 – sprinkle on the forest fire underneath, 3 – save the fire helicopter 🙂
