NEW JOB!!
« on: May 18, 2007, 04:20:22 PM »
Just got hired on with Landmark aviation as a Line tech. The pay sucks, but the benefits help (really reduced fuel price for me because I'm the only guy on the line who actually can fly a plane) New Chicken on the flight line!!!!!

Congratulations! |:)\
And it's really great to know that pay isn't the only thing that can make a job good :)

Hey, hope the job is going well.  And, if the pay sucks, then that's just more proof you really ARE in Aviation!!!!!!    ::bow::

Was a ramp rat for several years prior to my current rag dragging job.  Learn all you can and make as many friends as possible.  Personally, I will probably never fly anything I can't refuel.  Truly surprised me how many charter pilots were unfamiliar with refueling procedures for their aircraft.  And yeah, the pay isn't great, but you can get by on it, and hopefully it'll lead to bigger and better things.  Congrats!

So I've been pumping gas for about two months now with Landmark and wow...pay still sucks. But it's getting the 150 built so that's all that matters. Management is a little over bearing at times, and some of the people I work with I sometimes wonder if they can even identify the front end of a plane, never mind fueling it. It's been interesting so far.
