There i was...
« on: January 22, 2006, 10:44:04 PM »
Well ,our engineers at the base managed to scrap together a old AN-1 airplane...literally scrap up...and we wanted to do a test flight..everyone HAD to wear a parachute....they had to...cause there was no telling what could happen.
As i said before ,it was SCRAPPED together...the engine barely started...and we lost the landing gear on liftoff...we managed to climb to 500 meters until the engine jammed....No second decisions ,everyone just jumped out...that was fun as it was thrilling :)

Yeah, though it's good to think about possible consequences of your actions, you'd miss a lot of fun in your life if you do it too much! However, I still think I wouldn't have gotten on that plane with you!! ;D

Okay...that's quite funny.
It was the day before my PPL exam. I was to go flying with an instructor and do some things that went forgotten during the preparation. One actually was a simulated engine failure on the rwy, just after rotation. actually, i just had to apply brakes, maintain the center line put power off. nothing more...
the point is that I was actually falling in love for the instructor (I usually went inside school finger crossed, hoping I was going to fly with him!). So...lined up, ready for departure. I should have rotated and then he would have taken the power off. The problem is that he was having his hand above mine on power. And well, I went off. And I forgot to rotate...and I would have even forgotten to take off if - at 85 (actually vr was 55 vx 65 vy 76 kt) - he said.........."actually......do you think you're going to take off someday?" ???.
I just wanted to disappear!!!!! ;)  ;)  ;)

I give that landing a 9 . . . on the Richter scale.

I would have been worried if you ever fell in love with him!!!! But, at least, I would not have been jealous!!!!  ;D
BTW, he did the same exercise with other students (and chicks as well...). they never forgot to take off!!!
