Ah...Gil, you are a man close to my heart. One of my many pasttimes is having fun scambaiting these guys. I usually come up with some excuse that I don't use a telephone 'cause I lost my hearing early on. The story usually goes something like..."my dad worked the pit crew's for NASCAR and during one race, one of the cars backfired close to my head and I lost my hearing.....now I just roam to country with my 18 year old pregnant girlfriend living off of the multimillion dollar insurance settlement I won....blah, blah, blah....".
I setup all kinds of bogus email accounts and stuff too.
My latest "fish" is some guy who says that someone is stalking me and I should not leave the house. He will tell me who it is for $8000US, but I need to pay him $4000US up front. I can't talk to the police (of course) or that will tip the guys off due to some conspiracy somewhere. The only problem is that the way I setup my email, I got four copies of the exact same message to three different accounts (yes, he was not smart enough to not send it twice

).
My favourite ones are where the scammer is not smart enough to hid the .cc address list of the other hundreds of folks that they send the same message to. I ususally try to ask them if I have to share the money I am supposed to inherit (or whatever) with all of those other "special people" who are helping him obtain the money from his lost dictator father who was killed during some......well you get the point.
Keep 'em busy my friend...you may be saving some other person a lot of hardship down the road.
