Hey... turnabout's fair play.   ::thinking::

You could also be an insurance adjuster looking to determine how much 'your' estate owes several possible
business contacts. You could make up a form for him to fill out (with all sorts of oddball and personal questions)
in order to place his claim, which he would also be asked to quantify.

Right on, Gil!  ^55555555 for giving it to 'em where they need it!   ::rambo:: ::rambo:: ::rambo::

Too bad the humor is wasted on the perps.  If only they knew how you are making them look like fools to all of us!

What gets me is that these a-holes don't even take the time to change the contact name.  I had an email from Mr George Desmond just last December.  He claimed to be a Barrister who was trying to find relatives of the victims of an air carrier accident in the Middle East dating from the late 90's.  What really annoyed me is that he somehow had my late brother's named spelled accurately, however my old Bro was the last person to go to the Middle East for anything (he was a pot-smoking hippie when he died).  I didn't have the time or inclination to screw with the sucker, but I'm glad others are.  Might as well make them waste as much of their time as possible, and make them think they're actually gonna get something out of it.

Ah...Gil, you are a man close to my heart.  One of my many pasttimes is having fun scambaiting these guys.  I usually come up with some excuse that I don't use a telephone 'cause I lost my hearing early on.  The story usually goes something like..."my dad worked the pit crew's for NASCAR and during one race, one of the cars backfired close to my head and I lost my hearing.....now I just roam to country with my 18 year old pregnant girlfriend living off of the multimillion dollar insurance settlement I won....blah, blah, blah....".

I setup all kinds of bogus email accounts and stuff too.

My latest "fish" is some guy who says that someone is stalking me and I should not leave the house.  He will tell me who it is for $8000US, but I need to pay him $4000US up front.  I can't talk to the police (of course) or that will tip the guys off due to some conspiracy somewhere.  The only problem is that the way I setup my email, I got four copies of the exact same message to three different accounts (yes, he was not smart enough to not send it twice  ::loony::).

My favourite ones are where the scammer is not smart enough to hid the .cc address list of the other hundreds of folks that they send the same message to.  I ususally try to ask them if I have to share the money I am supposed to inherit (or whatever) with all of those other "special people" who are helping him obtain the money from his lost dictator father who was killed during some......well you get the point.

Keep 'em busy my friend...you may be saving some other person a lot of hardship down the road.

The guys over at scamb@iter tend to FUBAR the names and email addresses of their mugus in order to avoid being googled.
The scammers like to run searches of all those keywords and email addresses to check on their 'victims' and to see whether they're
being baited.

Oh, and by the way, if you want, I can forward some to you if you want... just set up a ".sk" mail account, give me a shot and I will give you link and info how to, and we can play around :D Would be interesting if scammers would be smart enough to find out it is Slovakia not Saskatchewan  ::) ::angel::

Set up a 'junk' email address, and post it on message boards and guestbook pages.
Also, look for eBay ads that are just too good to be true. They've been posting scam ads
for Garmin stuff, and doing a lot in automotive as well.
I would imagine the computer ads are plagued with 'em, too.

Just look for the *really* good deals, and for listings that offer a 'buy it now' price, with no
Buy it Now button at the top of the page. They usually try to get you to wire money for
an item sight-unseen, and they try to rush you along.

I just worked over a couple of those guys, got their ads dumped and wasted some of their time
responding to my gobs of silly questions.

Somehow, their lack of jobs is supposed to excuse their attempts to defraud people? ::complaining:  Perhaps God will forgive them, but I certainly won't. ::rambo::
