aerobatics license < 200 hours
« on: May 19, 2007, 11:40:44 AM »
hi all,

as some of you know i have (belgium) ppl license. i would love to learn to fly aerobatics, but for that i need 200 hours before here in belgium. since i only have 80 hours yet, it's going to take a lot of time (and worse: too much money).

so, i was wondering (and hopnig) if there exists some way around this. for example get the rating in an other country where the 200 hours rule is not necessary, or something else ?

is there a creative solution for my problem ? :)

thank you all,
kind regards,

HMMMM, Interesting---I'm unaware of any time restrictions here in the states.

You might Email some of the aerobatics schools, I haven't looked but I'm sure there are a lot of them on the internet ::type::

before i can email them i have to know in which countries the restriction doesn't apply. that's why i'm checking here first :)

thank you for your reply!

OK---I'll restate that--Here in the United States of America, there are no time restriction that I know of (except perhaps for a low level waiver which would not apply to an aerobatic student)    If you google aerobatic schools in the US, I'm sure you could find one that could give you the final answer to your question by Email  ::wave::

OK DIGITS, I got hold of Harvey & Rihn Aviation in Texas and talked with Debby Rihn (2006 US National Unlimited Aerobatics Champion).
She assured me there is NO time requirement here in the USA ;D
Her phone number in Texas is 281 471 1675 or go to their website if you want more information    |:)\

hi, allrightie, thank you for the information. (from a aerobatics champion :o :o *amazed*) however, it's not very close to belgium, so if there are any other countries where there is no time limit, i'd be happy to hear about them.

thank you!

My third log book entry is 0.8 hours with Rich Stowell doing 'Unusuall Attitude' training.  It included (among other things) Loops and Spins.  I had a total of 2 hours flight time AFTER that.   ::wave::

I found out today they make mini (think "fun sized") moonpies.    Did a double take there...
