Speaking of Baby Steps.....
« on: May 07, 2007, 12:21:47 AM »
As of 5 PM EST today (Sunday May 6, 2007) I now have 1.0 hours in my logbook..... Now all I need is 49 more (give or take)  ::rofl::

One of my fellow Line Rats Chris, (Ahem....Line Service technician) is also a CFI so we finally had a day off together and went up for an hour. My thousands of hours flying my computer paid of a bit in the fact that I already know what was what on an airplane and I could concentrate on the flying. Chris is also an avid flightsimmer  so he was confident in letting me fly about 95% of the flight. All he did was show me one steep turn and flew the last 500 feet of the approach to the landing (10 knot crosswind) but I flew everything else!!! We took off on Runway 1 at Burlington, flew out over Lake Champlain, did a low approach to Platsburgh International (the old Platsburgh AFB) did some steep turns out over the lake (I nailed em') and then flew back to Burlington. What a Blast. Now all I need is some more money ;D

Actually, Chris has been hired by my company as a King Air FO. He transfers from Line Service to the flight department at the end of the month. So he now can fly King Air's and teach me to fly at the same time......

His Wife is also a CFI with the same flight school and after hanging out with her while Chris and I were flying, I almost have my girlfriend convinced to at least go up for a ride.

And Don't Tempt me too hard there Baradium.... Actually I think I'd prefer the Anchorage area a little more, Fairbanks is a bit tooo cold for even this Vermonter in the winter. Of course in Anchorage I could hang out with "Safari" Bob (well if I drove up to Palmer anyway)

I am now just waiting for some nice weather winter and some more free schedule for my friend at local flightschool /he is technical director around here/ and I am onto some C172 hour(s) as well.

Congrats on flying,  I remember my first "get acquainted flight" back home in Washington, took off outta  Auburn Muni and flew up by Rainier, over my house and High School, came back and I did a couple of landings.
