Cool Lanc Pictures
« on: May 02, 2007, 03:51:47 AM »
Hey gang, for those who love vintage warbirds, here's a link of some pictures I took of the Lancaster in Toronto in 1999.
Enjoy

Sorry for the late reply, I tend to wait until I really get cooking so I can write some good replies.

Very nice pictures, the Lanc is a classic, and I also really like the way it's displayed, they look more majestic and almost flying when on a single pillar instead of sitting on the extended landing-gear, but that's just a personal opinion. Nice place to sit btw :D

Thanks for sharing  ::wave::

Thanks ::bow::
 It's been taken down. ALthough displaying them in that way can be a noble cause (Memorials, and not sent to the scrapper ::unbelieveable::), it is however destructive to the aircraft. In this case, there was no maintenance performed on it, it was subjected to vandalism, and corrosion. Pics of our Sabre here in Sarnia show just how bad it can get

(Scroll down halfway to find out.

So fortunatley it was removed and taken to the Toronto Aerospace museum. Our Sabre still decays though.
Cheers
