Actually people are already distracted enough while driving. In case you don't know then it was a joke-segment although I'm not sure who made it. I know someone made a similar stunt although advertizing speed-camera vans further ahead of where the lady was, I think that was in Germany though. And for the record that man was standing at the court of the queen's castle in Copenhagen, I've been there a couple of times myself, beautiful place.

In all seriousness then I think fully self-driving cars would help some commuters since they're already constantly on the phone, checking on the kids etc. (and seriously, that wasn't a joke, I seen this every few minutes, and it's so easy to see I can see it without taking focus off my own driving), they've already made all systems for it, most cars are now almost totally drive-by-wire so full electronic control is not much more, several cars are already getting radar out front for the std. cruise-control (the new middleclass Ford Mondeo has this so it's not just rich people's luxurycars). I just hope the automatic cars aren't like the AI cars in the anime éX-Driver, although I'd love to be an éX-Driver (exact - exceed - excellent) I actually made a ID-card like the one shown on the official website :D I know that's a little corny but it's all in good fun, but with a good purpose.

I heard gibbo say that in Australia there are different license-types depending on if it's for cars with manual or automatic transmissions and that could be used for computer-cars too, making a system based on how much manual control you're licensed for: A: Fully automatic cars, no direct control, just directions. B: Semi-manual cars, cars with automatic override and possibly also automtic transmission and then C: Fully manual cars, no autoamtic override systems.
I know I went a bit off topic but I think the ideas are both interesting and possibly helpful/life-saving.

It's great to read all the funny stuff you guys/gals find around the net, great idea that we got this subforum  |:)\

Greetings  ::wave::
Frank

My neighbor just bought a new Cadillac sports car---darn thing has cruise control with radar that automatically slows the car at a safe distance when overtaking traffic the resumes speed when the road clears ahead---Son-of-gun just had to shoot me down when I was bragging about my ride  ::rambo:: ::banghead::

Cadillac Sportscar? Would that be the Corvette-based roadster? And he can't shoot down your ride if you have unconditional love for it  ::wave:: (I just woke up to an army of ants on the floor so I'm not quite up to par but I think you know what I meant to say). And we're still waiting for our car, at least until wednesday since that's when the goverment dude gets back, but then hopefully something will get done since he was one of the people there to see how badly my mom could get in/out of the Peugeot and will know how long we've waited for the dealer to get the money (to recap, the county already said we should go and sign the salescontract for the car and that was in early january).

Looks like a Transformer Robot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBunHSJvRYg
Much more complicated than the most common hardtop in Denmark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rChSIw1jd24

Peugeot actually made a car in the 1930s that had a metal-roof that folded back into the trunk.

Yeap, it is true Frank, we have an Automatic Lisense (i won't print what we call it here 'Mom will  ::rambo:: me ;D )and a Manual Lisense, although there are ALOT of Aussies who believe that the Auto lisense should be abolished (except in incapacitated or handicapped cases) and make everyone learn to drive in a manual gear change car.  My wife for only has an Auto lisense...makes car choice expensive and narrow (2 of the cars i really want are only available in manual gear change :D )

Can't you just make her get a manual license?

As one who has been married to 2 women (one at a time) for a total of 39 years, I'm here to tell you Baradium's idea of buying it anyway just AIN'T gonna fly  ::eek:: unless you think celibacy is a viable option  ::banghead::
