I do have to say the strip looks familiar, the multiple strips on the subject must explain it...   :D

You might have seen this week's strip, as well as the one that Frank mentioned in Trade A Plane!

@ Frank: Like Mike mentioned, it's almost impossible for us to control when which magazine will print which strip. We always send them some that haven't been published on our website yet, but a few months after that we quite often use one of these here.

Even if it might come to some of you as a shock, I have to be honest with you: Chicken Wings is not intended as a work of reference for aeronautical questions! It's a comic strip with chickens! Although we like to be conclusive and authentic, we shamelessly sacrifice logic and quite a lot of other things for a good laugh anytime!  ;D

Oh, and as for the Roost Air fleet, as far as I know it consists of a Cessna 172, a Piper PA-23 Atztec, a de Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter and a Hughes 500. I sometimes draw Chuck in a Pitts or an Extra, but that's only for some pictures where you have to be able to see his face.

Is that why your students always get asked "Chuck, is that you?" :D :D

It's not!? Wow I'm shocked, the drawings and details and terminology was so convincing! ::eek::
Seriously though, take it as a compliment, I know it's just a comic-strip and not something to be used for real flight-training (except as: what not to do ever ever ever!). It was just a relaxed good-natured talk since your drawings are really good at showing details, and not just planes too, the Follow Me Chuck suv was clearly a Toyota Land Cruiser and I think the car used for Need For Speed was inspired from a BMW Z3 (I wonder if Chuck and Julio boosted (stole) happy's Z3, I seem to remember it's even the same colour :D ).

So I hope to confirm what I'm sure you already knew, that it was just fun talks partly based on your excellent sense of detail, but no critique at all for not being authentic, ok?  |:)\ ::wave::

Shame on you! What are you saying? the right terminology is" A red plane that fits the colour scheme of the company!!" :)
I give that landing a 9 . . . on the Richter scale.

ROFL!!!!!

For some reason I find this utterly HILARIOUS!!!! (BTW, Hilarious was a spelling word this week for my daughter...1 of 10...she got it right but TOTALLY mispelled "smile" as "smilliy"....got to love 7 year olds!)  Hmmm...the only Red and White Cessna I ever flew was Niner-One Quebec....a 152.  Now if you want to talk "Red and White" aircraft you must talk Super Cubs...there seems to be a law that they must ALL be red and white.  Now J-3s...there is a law the must ALL be yellow.  Heck, I watched a yellow J-3 nose over when I was in the pattern for 19L at ENA.  I went over to shoot touch and go's (I was in flight training at the time) over at SXQ.  Kinda bit...that was a CUTE J-3! Yes, Doctor, I'm ready for my pills now...... ;)

I think Supercubs can be Yellow or Red.   In the area I'm from the ones you see are usually Yellow... in fact, so was the one I did my tailwheel in...

Ask Tundra about Super Cubs....and how they used to fly UNDER his pattern when he had his "Ultra-Light"..... ::whistle::....I mean Antares MA33.  Standard pattern at Bradley was, what 1000' and Ultra Light pattern was what...500'....and the Cubs were UNDER him?  Ask him about his theory on "Cub pilots don't like to fly higher then they are willing to fall".

Me, a Super Cub is too darn small.....too many trips to take in the wife, daughter, Cat and the gear the wife insists on.  Heck, two guys, full fuel and a Keg is TECHNICALLY overloading a PA-18!

OK, I better sleep now...I'm getting silly!

I'd ask him, but I can't convince him to meet at aviators or anything.  ;)

Wanted to go to the EAA meetings, but I end up working every single time.... the crux of doing the evening anchorage fliight most days!   ::knockedout::
