I just found this, that's a toughie since the frame around the doors does look practical for a helicopter conversion

Can anybody explain why one of the blades is missing on the cream VW?

In the shop being painted ! ! ! I'm sure there is no perfectly good reason....

I was just wondering about what appears to be duct tape on the tail rotor.   ::loony:: ::loony:: ::loony::

Actually you can have tape on blades...I would not put any on the TR balde though. When I flew in Hawaii, we put blade tape on the leading edge of the main blades for erosion control...It needed to be changed every 50 hours or so. Occasionally, a peice of tape would get a "nick" in it and slowly start to peel away---we would land and pull it all off for the rest of the day.

I also flew a Hiller 12E many many years ago. It had old wooden blades that were balanced by wrapping duct tape on the outbourd edge of the main blades...One blades tape started coming off one day and destroyed lift.....I got it on the runway, (only just), and had insufficient power to hover, so slid all the way back to the ramp, where the electrics proceeded to catch fire....Never flew a Hiller 12 again.......

Mythbusters tried to destroy an A-Star by taping coins to the main rotors.  I don't think the SFPD allowed them to tape the tail rotor.

From the "Excessive Cuteness" Files!

This PUPPY has been born in Japan with a large, clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat.  The Chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder.  Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred.  She had no plans
to sell the puppy, which has been named "Heart-kun".  (He loves you)

quite cute! For it to be that defined is very unsusal. If it is real, I'm sure that the dog would have a very high price tag if the owner ever wanted to sell it.

He'll catch a Muskie just as good as any other "dog" like him.

Hehe.  I checked Snopes before I posted those pics.  Yes its a real dog.  Might not catch as big a Muskie as you'd like Gulfstream, but worth a try!   >:D  ::loony:: ::thinking::

that pic of the engine on fire looks fake. have a look at the top of the cowling on the port engine the fire is not even coming from inside the fan section but rather from the outside of it. (budding AAIB employee  ;D )
