Well, I guess if I ever get my helo license (which I am planning on btw) I won't be doing any banner flying . . . ;)

I wonder when I'll see one of them flying around though. Did this become illegal or something?

I don’t think it’s illegal but I know it’s expensive. ;D
If helicopter flying would be difficult, engineers would do it.

Yeah, this ones real, I read about it a while back and if memory serves me right, it was being towed or pushed when the incident happened-- wasn't a flight accident.

I'm guessing the linesman who was towing it got a nice long talking too.
WOW I did that!

rumor has it that the crew had finished working on the bird, hooked it up to the tow then went on break and the doofus on the tow forgot to set the brake and when they came back....voila!

Yes that is a real picture and I know exactly where it is at. It is located at the Memphis international airport in TN. There is a couple of those concrete ditched that run around the place. I have actually parked at one with the tail of the Cessna 172 overhanging it. There have been quite a few incidents like that. That plane was coming out of Pinnacles maintenance hangar. Pinnacle Airlines (or Northwest Airlink as it is better known) is based there.

The first picture: this is a fake. I found it awhile back on Snopes.com (here's the link). As a graphics artist, I suspected that it was a clever Photoshop job when I first saw it - there are numerous .jpg artifacts throughout the picture EXCEPT in the flame, plus the flame is not being reflected on the aircraft nor lighting the tarmac.

The last picture: this is not a tornado. Rather, this is a thundershower with a microburst and a developing wall cloud. This is not to say that it couldn't BECOME a thunderstorm...most wall clouds do have tornadic rotation. :o
