A friend of mine...
« on: March 22, 2007, 08:45:16 PM »
Has been hired for an airline job and he hasn't even graduated college yet!

Express Jet hired him and is willing to wait to class him up until he graduates so he can finish his degree.

That was fast. What is he a genius, lucky or both? And what kind of job is it?

He has a commercial multi and did do a little flight instructing...

He's going to be flying 50 seat regional jets.     :o

I think express jet does some of the Northwest Airlink stuff.

Pretty sweet.  I only know a few guys here that have made that deal.  Controllers are looking pretty good as of late.  The wait is down to about 8 months now.

Express jet has been hiring like carzy so no huge surprise.  I know of several regionals that are doing that.  Don't get me wrong I'm sure they prefer a college degree but not really a huge requirement these days.  I know one guy that got hired by mesa that is only 19 with no college experience at all.  Congrats to the friend though still no easy task to get hired.
WOW I did that!

I suspect many regionals now almost prefer no degree... if you don't have a degree you won't be able to jump ship to a major so easily.   I'm pretty sure my company thinks in those terms.
