HA HA!!

AWESOME!!  ::bow::

I like the shots of where they all bunch up underneath the Airbus! oh, and where he's diving and breaking through the clouds!

Good stuff!

So, "Bon Jovi" must be added to the "flight music" thread, huh?!?

Absolutely!

Yes, those scenes you mentioned are my favorites, as well!  More specifically, the first part where you see the black silhouette hiding underneath the Airbus for the first time, and the contrails!  Oh, the contrails!  ::angel::

The loop through the clouds is poking holes in the sky the way it was meant to be.  ::bow::

Cool video.   You know if the primary purpose of it is as an Airbus ad?

BTW, I'm completely lost with this week's strip.... other than that I assume that "halfway there" has something to do with the song that he's singing.

Yes, that's true... We were assuming that everybody would know the lyrics! It's from "Living on a Prayer". I'm sure you know the song, just maybe not the lyrics!!

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
He's down on his luck...it's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love

She says: We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - we'll give it a shot

Oh, we're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer

Tommy got his six string in hock
Now he's holding in what he used
To make it talk - so tough, it's tough
Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers: Baby it's okay, someday

We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - we'll give it a shot

Oh, we're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer

We've got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got

Oh, we're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer

I've never heard of Poison.     ::whistle::

I havn't heard the song, but isn't there one  "On a wing and a prayer?"    Seem to remember it's from a bomber movie or something...

I feel kinda bad.  I grew up in a time when Bon Jovi was popular, but I lived in a Bible belt.  Rock and Roll was "Devil music" when I was growing up.  Well, I still like my Christian music, but thanks to most of my buddies in the Marines, I'm finding there are plenty of decent songs you can find outside of the gospel aisle.

I think at least 50% of the reason I chose the Marines is I knew I was sheltered, and I wanted to be able to relate to people.
I can happily say, "Mission accomplished."  I find myself getting bored with my own stories a lot of times, but it really was the best thing that could have happened to me.

At any rate, I brought up the video mainly because it has the line, "... Tommy and Gina, who never backed down."  I didn't actually know it was a Bon Jovi song until I saw the comic strip today.

Apparently, Tommy and Gina are two of Bon Jovi's favorite people.  That, or they are some representation of "everyman".

Ditto. As if it wasn't bad enough not liking most modern cars and music and having a lot of grey hair and not even being 30 yet. So names like M/A/R/R/S, KLF, DeLorean, Group B, fruit-coloured T-shirts and blazers with the sleeves rolled up, ghettoblaster aka boombox, Jan Hammer etc. is just jibberisch to you right?

KLF?

can't compare that to Bon Jovi EVER!!   ::loony::

I did like KLF for a while though. Some of the others I've never heard of to be honest....
Are they all Scandinavian?

Even though I was a teenager in the 90's, I still appreciate the "good" music from the 80's.  (You have to admit that a lot of it sucked. :P )  Poison, G&R, Metallica, some Van Halen, Tom Petty, etc.  Springsteen is decent.  I think Mellencamp needs to shut his mouth (he's just a Springsteen wannabe).  Just my unsolicited opinion.   ;D
