even more interesting: how do you land this thing?
can the pilot even see over it's nose?  ::eek::

Mike, you should take some fixed-wing lessons.  Many light GA airplanes have little or no forward visibility on landing...  including the venerable C150, C152, and C172.  In tailwheel airplanes where the PIC sits in the rear seat (like the J-3 Cub and Aeronca's Champ and Citabria) the pilot can see absolutely NOTHING forward on a three point landing due to the high nose position and the fact that there may be a passenger occupying the front seat.

The key is the PIC relies on peripheral vision during a full-stall landing.  That might be a challenge with a big flying boat, but it wouldn't be insurmountable.

Just pick a big body of water and use a glassy water landing.   It's less important in a flying boat than a wheeled aircraft IMO since you can pick a much much longer and wider "runway."

Frank, that looks real close to a Stinson L-5 Sentinal or something Westland A/C would have built but I'm giving up because I've exhausted my resources--no beer--no strippers woe is me :'( :-[

Just remember -- that 'long easy runway' is also filled with logs and other dangers submerged just under the surface.......   ::sweat::

A good buddy just turned down a good float job because he was "sick and tired of waiting to flip upside down in the f-ing ice water on every scoop"....  and he's a real salty ole hand, with tons of float time.

Guys who are good, make it look easy......  just my 2 cents' worth.    |:)\

I forgot -- what Champs have pilots sitting in the back seat??!?  They were designed to put the pilot in the front -- one of their best traits (and selling points) compared to a Cub....   ???   ??

NONE--all Champs solo from the front (unless there's a mod out there I've never seen) :)

Jim, what do you need strippers for when you got a sicilian wife at home? :D And I'm sure you got some beer at home.
And no, it's not a Stinson or Westland, try again :D I guess it is still possible to find a rare aircraft.

It seems no-one can find this plane. It's a danish KZ X made in 1951.

LOL, you guys! After a hint from Gil in the chatroom, actually confirming one of the companies I'd thought of then I found the good looking airplane he posted, can't someone find it?
