Yeah, I think that's a Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV, with the 2000 hp Griffon.

I got to take a really close look at one of those.  Rudy Frasca has one in his personal aircraft collection.   We were allowed to climb up and look in the cockpit etc as well.

Edit: Oh I never doubted it was real, I just found it interesting how much it looked like Gerry's work, although maybe it's the other way around, he was inspired from planes like this?  ::thinking::

Frank

Frank if you squint hard enough :D you could see where Gerry got the idea for TB1!!!  ;)  :D

Wow, that's one tight fit, and probably not good visibility, despite the all-transparent nose. That kind-of remind me of the craze of the 80s and 90s with everything in transparent plastic, phones, gamecontrollers, watches etc.
Any information on how the performance and flight characteristics of those things were?

Cessna CH-1 Interesting little beasty.

Cessna, that's cool, I was going to jokingly call it a Cessna 150 rotor conversion.   ::rofl::

It very nearly was. I believe it was the first helicopter to land on Pike's peak, and I know there's a flightsim model of it somewhere. I enjoyed flying it on my old computer, though I haven't looked for it recently.

Ok, I'll try posting a picture.  I'm sure it's any easy one for most of you but she sure is a beauty.
