Take your time . . .

How about that one from another angle?
Maybe that helps a little . . .

looks like a ME-109 was chopped down into a racer. That's what helped me find the answer. A Messerschmitt 209 (ME-209). That was a toughy!

Wow, pretty wicked, I never would've guessed that. I'm surprised there are still unknown aircraft out there.

That, of course, is absolutely correct.
Although it looks kinda like a Me 109 it was built more or less from scratch to break the speed record at that time for popagenda reasons. When it did, it was reported to the FIA as "Me 109 R", because the Me 109 had to be the world's fastest aircraft . . .
And then there was a Me 209 V5, which had nothing to do with the Me 209 V1 - V4, but was intended as a replacement for the Me 109. It shared the name to give the impression that it was just an improved version, not a completely new design, in order to get it's construction approved.

And I guess that's enough of a history lesson for today . . .

It's either a DC-1 or a DC-2. the only way to tell is by looking at a inside shot of the cockpit since the DC3 had a different lay out from the earlier versions.

Nope, the DC-1 and 2 didn't have a swept wing.  They swept the wing to fix a CG problem in the -3.

DC-4? but the markings are a bit early for that version and can't see the big cargo door on the side.

::thinking:: Not so, acording to this top views. The ruder & fin are also larger on the DC-3/C-47

Oh come on now. That is a DC-2 variant if I know one. C-39 to be precise.
