Surely, you must know I was kidding :-\ (OK, there's your lead ;D)

Heheh.... Ah, you were kidding, eh?  And don't call me Shirley  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yep.... once that opening is had, it's irresistable.......   same reason I make that "Shhh" sound whenever those automatic doors open and close in malls and stores  ;D ;D ;D

I am firmly convinced that the best gift we all have been given to generate a good laugh (other than the Chicken Wings comics, which goes without saying), was the Airplane! movies  ;D |:)\

Hmm.... get those lights to blink in sequence!!

Will you have internet in Dubai?!
(that's the real important question)

Mates, as Roland goes to Dubai, I will relocate next week to London during almost two months to follow a course. During these last day I unfortunately did not have a lot of time to spend into the forum, since I was lookig for an inexpesive flat there, and I just went to London for a short trip to sort something out (and came home without anything sorted out....). Yesterday I finally found a flat on the internet. Since it's near hyde park, has free internet connection and does cost almost nil compared to the prices in london, I imagine that I will be living in an incredible small thing  that, if it ever really has internet (one of the reason I chose it, plus the fact it's located near the park where I could go running....), it will surely be located on the lower floor, without windows, given the fact they can't be included into the price!! the good thing is that, when I come back from the courses at evening, I will have the chance to keep posting.....see how much pretty addicted to the coop I'm?!?!  ;D ;D

Best wishes to you on luck with your relocation!  London is a very expensive city, but the outlying areas are supposed to be reasonable, from what I've heard.  With any luck, you may get a pleasant surprise as to your new flat and what size it is, etc.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

I know we'll still see you on the forum.... once the bug has bitten, it's just too hard to shake :)

What kind of course?

Will you be able to fly while you're there?!?
I guess if you can't go fly, you'll spend even more time in the forum, huh?!?  ;)

Have fun and be safe, ok?!

I go to London to learn the Arabic language....and I'm not kidding!  ;)
And no, I doubt I will have any chance to fly! :( We'll see anyhow, it could happen that I decide to see if a flight can be done during weekends somewhere around london! and sure, I will have fun! I'm just waiting for that!

Hahaha! Fireflyr, if I ever told you I should kill you!! :)
No, it's much easier and less "stylish"! I started a course of Arabic 1 year and half ago, and since I still cannot find a job, I thought about learning to speak it fluently in the meantime I search for a job.  the main problem is that I've studied law, something I hate, did my PhD on the legal definition of terrorism, with the idea of becoming a journalist or an university researcher on the subject after that, and no route actually worked out: looks like I'm too young for the market, and the university I attended was not interested at all on the subject of terrorism. So, the choice I'm actually left with is among keeping on vacation mode (and I hate waking up and have nothing to do...I feel like crap), start the legal career (and I neither wanna imagine about doing it! it's too annoying), or keep doing something that gives me added value to become a journalist someday. And since my Arabic could be bettered, I've chosen for the this option!

Sounds like you would do well eventually as a translator or liason officer for an embassy, or at the U.N. in the future :)

So you're Dr. Happy?   And shouldn't you be an Alpha Hen?  ;)

So are you saying you have a PhD in Law?     I'm sure there's a job in Alaska for you, there's a job for everyone here it seems like.  ;)

LOL I just thought about that myself a few days ago, especially since there's already a gender-setting in the profile that shouldn't be an impossible feature.

Dr. Happy that indeed does have a nice ring to it :) But just watch out for V-Tail Bonanzas then!

... forked tailed doctor killers...

Those things make me more nervous than scare busses do.

You know, they say that when you fly an airplane they can tend to grow on you.  My dad used to fly Airbusses.... he told me that Pan Am's mechanics would describe them as "throw away airplanes."  Had a conversation about it when that 310 crashed in Russia a month or so ago.  I guess my distrust of purely electronic controls comes from him.

I still am very curious why it never made headlines about the 340 that crashed in Canada.  Last I heard they were saying that a lightning strike on short final took out all 3 computer systems, which take 20 seconds to reboot.  This left engines with power and no control functions until after it was too late...

Hmm, that designation for a plane from the people that service/repair them doesn't inspire a lot of trust!

From what little I know then I'm sure my kind of small GA plane doesn't even need servos on it's steering controls to work just great. I wonder how it could effect the computers since planes are supposed to just pass lightning, in composite planes they're weaving in copper or such materials to lead lightning out. And 20 seconds is one heck of a lot of time in that situation there :(

Mates, here I'm from London! :) these last days in Lugano have been quite frantic: i had some people to say goodbye, some who told me they're sure I won't be coming back to Switzerland. and we'll see if I ever fall in love for a londoner and for london! I had told you something about the "flat" and now I've all the info in hand, since I'm here.......let's see a first debriefing. it's really near hyde park, so it has a perfect location (yeah!). it does have windows with a glance on a small garden (wow!). It really has free internet access (whoaaaaa!). on the other side....well, it's a flat without kitchen (at least I would not call a kitchen a microwave, a basin and a fridge) and the strange thing is that inside the cupboard I could find 1 dish, cutlery for one, cups for two and 3 pans! I wonder wherever anybody cooks! apart that, the room is quite large (I would say a 4 x 4 meters). the only big problem is  dirt: I've decided that I will clean my teeth in the basin of the kitchen. and I won't describe you the shower, since I've gone franctic, looking for something to clean it before I ever decide to use it! And.....yeah, I've bought some new blankets, I actually think everything strange species could be found there. Anyhow, I will start the course tomorrow and will keep you updated. yours, happylanding the Bond Girl :) :)  ;)

Use some bleach and ignore the stains?  ;)

At least bleach you know it's clean from anything that you'd actually want to worry about.

Happy times Happy.  ;)

After this you going to come stateside to see what our airspace system is like?     :D

Ah my little Bond-girl Begonia,
As you know, Cleanliness is next to Godliness and as a landlord, I NEVER hand over a property that is not clean enough for me to live in----and I'm a clean freak!
Things that will help cleanup are bleach, and white vinegar (white vinegar cuts nasty dirt without damaging the carpets, etc.)  I do not envy you your cleanup chore but be brave and we shall give you moral support!  ;D   YOur landlord must be a swine for giving you such a dirty place and you should complain to some higher authority about the situation---there are laws about such things!
