Well, there's a new (Dutch) hybrid air/land vehicle around.
check out this movie: http://youtu.be/SgHSaNtAMjs
It's a combo between an autogyro and a carver, and apparently, the maiden flight was yesterday-ish.

A gyrocopter?!?!?!?   YGBSM!!!   ::eek:: ::eek:: ::eek:: ::eek:: ::eek::

That's a flying machine with one of the worst safety records ever!  And they want to mass-produce them!?!?   ::unbelieveable:: ::unbelieveable:: ::unbelieveable:: ::unbelieveable:: ::unbelieveable::

Sure, the thing looks cool, but this will become the newest Doctor/Lawyer Killer to add to the annals of aviation.

A bad idea wrapped in coolness...  What a way to market Death to the masses.   ::banghead::

Don't forget we're in 2012, it will probably be FBW, assisted with full envelope protection and all the bells and whistles  ::thinking::
