Tales from the RAF

(1/1)

Canberra Man:
We are on Detachment in Malaya and the Canberra's are returning after a mission.  I pick mine out on the peri track and turn him into the pan, signal to stop and open bomb doors with armourer standing by in case of a hang up, no hang up, worse!  As the bomb doors open, a 1000lb bomb lurched through he gap and crunches onto the tarmac.  We didn't know wether to lie down or run, then we realised the bomb hadn't fallen far enough to arm.  Panic over!  The air crew must have wondered what was wrong, with the ground crew counting their worry beads, then we realised, it hadn't fallen far enough to arm.  Fun over for the day!

G-man:
My crews salute to Ghadafi from NAS Sigonella after the raid on 04-15-1986.

However the "British were not involved in that conflict"... I just happened to snap this:

Rooster Cruiser:

'Here, Kitty Kitty Kitty!'

'Nice, Kitty Kitty Kitty!'
