A team of 50 firefighters, working on rotation, have been using beaters and spraying water on the flames and smouldering ground at Belmont, Bacup and Ormskirk.
I suspect that based upon this statement, they have no clue how to fight a wildfire. Sounds like they are going direct on it, instead of going ahead of it and burning out the fuel under controlled conditions. We see this all over the country when people try to fight the fire instead of "managing the fire" by removing the fuel. Structure firefighters have NO clue what they are doing in the wild fire environment.
