Finally someone with a brain in a marketing departement. Not only did they found a way to make people use stairs instead of escalators but they had 13+ millions viewers of Volkswagen logo.
That being said, it would never work in North America because of the risk of accidents when playing on the stairs.
In Canada, the tax payers can't afford to pay for 2-3 broken legs and we are too stupid to consider the mass of people finally making a few minutes of exercice.
In the United States, no one would want to do it because they will be afraid to be sued each time someone hurt his knee.
