Does anybody know an aircraft painter?

(1/1)

Mike:
me again with paint job questions:

This is a question more directed towards the US located veterans of the forum, Turbo, Mom, G-Man, Baradium, you guys knew who you are:

Does anybody know somebody who paints airplanes?
How much does it cost to paint a C-175 ??

TheSoccerMom:
Hmm, I don't know anyone who has a small paint shop, but there IS a paint shop in Kingman that last did the Minivan....

very nice....  but I'm sorry, I have no details.  Can't even recall their name, but they should be easy to find in a place like Kingman, AZ....

I'll ask our mechanics the next time I talk to them!   :D

 ;D

Baradium:
That question is a tough answer because it really depends on how much you are want to spend,  you get what you pay for.   I'm sure our planes are going pretty close to the lowest bidder as our NWA painted ships get repainted for DCI.    Those ones are going to Missouri somewhere I believe.    I know ASA sends theirs to Mexico when they get new paint.

This is something that probably even varies by area of the country you do it in, timeframe etc.  Not to mention how complicated of a job you want done.   You could also likely do some of the prepwork yourself to save money as well.

YawningMan:
There was a fellow in Abilene, TX who could paint to balance a plane within a few specks of lead weight. This was when I was in high school, though. I guess I could call up the dad of one of my friends. Did you get your paint job done, btw? I notice this thread is rather old.

Mike:
actually we "X-coated" the plane, which is a new system to shine up an old paint job and then "wrapped" it!
Have you seen it yet?
