Reduce Speed
« on: June 29, 2010, 05:40:49 PM »
Yanno, speed is a relative thing.  If Chuck was in a J-3 Cub he'd be saying unable because 70kts would be too fast!   ::loony::

Another good one guys!   |:)\

Is that IAS or ground speed? I am sure a Cub could do 70, down wind...in a hurricane, I would not want to land a cub in those conditions though...
...Lurker...
I don't need an engine and a prop for my Skyarrow anymore...but I do need a testpilot for it. Chuck wanna step up?...on second thought, perhaps not.

Yeah, they have those Cubs with Tundra tires up here in AK. They look like they're hovering almost......
But it's amazing to watch those guys land at places where a helicopter pilot even has to think twice before landing.....

There is a trick to landing on the river..

Keep your brakes on and tires locked UNTIL you hit the rocks (That surely cannot be a beach).

Then if you do not let the brakes off soon enough, you are going to plant your prop.

It's probably a sand bar (I have not yet reviewed the video).
