Wild weather
« on: May 10, 2009, 02:09:28 PM »
As Mary knows all to well. Tornadoes area rare thing in Vermont. Even in the relatively flat terrain around where she grew up in Franklin county.

One touched down yesterday afternoon in the worst possible place. The center of Washington Village in Orange county and about 6 air miles from where I live. (next town over)

While this was happening in Washington, I only had heavy rain, some wind and a little hail.

Just shows to go ya, anything can happen anywhere.

Here's google map showing where http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=113801780639468726483.0004698f371b8f8f3eb31&ll=44.114089,-72.490711&spn=0.083807,0.219727&z=13

I can't believe you guys had a tornado!     ::unbelieveable::
That was always the joke in Vermont -- that Winter may be 6 months long, but at least there isn't any BAD weather.    :D

I'm so thankful no one was hurt..  that's pretty amazing, really.     ::sweat::

Amazing...!

Minnesota's two seasons have always been winter and road construction.  This year, the state revised the calendar.  Now, Minnesota's seasons are winter and July 24, which we hope will be a nice day.

It sounds like a cool and wet season so far back there...  any hopes of it drying out soon?

I was talking to a seat guy in Wisconsin and he said he's flown all of 3 hours in over a month....   ::banghead::   He didn't sound too happy.

We're all pretty pissed off about the weather.  The smokechasers are bored out of their minds.  At least they get paid when there's no fire...
