Well, the roller coaster is on the downhill slide.....
Rose got the test results back. It's cancer. Her doc is afraid that it may have spread. The only good news (if there is any) is that is is of a type that responds well to chemo. They are being aggressive with it. At 9:30 tomorrow morning we'll be at the oncologists so Rose can get a head to toe CAT scan, Bone Marrow biopsy, and her first dose of Chemo. Gonna be a long day. The hospital's PET scanner is down for repairs but as soon as it's up, she's getting a PET scan as well. Gonna be a long winter. Me only working part time and Rose on half pay from her temporary disability policy... When it rain's, it pours bricks.
Brian
Brian and Rose,
Thinking of you both---have no clue what to say---my mother in law went thru similar and is doing OK right now--2 years later. I sent her the following when I found out--Give the following to Rose--it may bring a smile on an otherwise shitty day:
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed that she had only three hairs on her head. “Well,” she said, “I think I’ll braid my hair today.” So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. “H-M-M, she said, “I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today.” So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. “Well,” she said, “Today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.” So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn’t a single hair on her head. “YEAH!” she claimed, “I don’t have to fix my hair today!”
ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. Have a Good Day!
