Navajo Wheels up landing in Tamworth
« on: July 29, 2008, 02:01:34 AM »
Hey guys,

This happened in Tamworth, New South Wales on Friday  ::unbelieveable::.  The plane is one that a very good mate of mine usually flies on freight runs  ::eek::  Luckily it was his day off.
Full marks though to the pilot no damage to the Props or engines  |:)\  WOW!!  Dowsed with the usual bad reporting  ::)

Good ol Navajo.  Guy did a hell of a job on the landing.  I've had several gear issues with that type of aircraft, luckily for me I was able to get them down every time using the various means available.  That one looked a bit odd since the nose gear went down but the mains didn't, the nose is the last one to go down in our gear sequence.  Quite interesting.
WOW I did that!

I loved how the reporter ended her report, "The pilot was given the rest of the day off."   ::thinking:: ::thinking:: ::thinking::  You reckon he didn't have to help unload his freight?  Methinks he'd be spending the rest of the day sucking up a few cold ones once he was done with the investigators!!!   ::drinking:: ::drinking:: ::drinking::

He had probably already thrown a few back when the investigators showed up.

My mate Johnno had to unload the freight into his Nav and continue the run  :( it was actually johnno's day off, funny way to swap freight runs and days off  ???
