It says it's made by the makers of the Simpsons, but how come it's a RHD Volvo and a old Lada, both not US-market cars? Otherwise I say it's really well-done, even down to the photo-effects of the skate-board over the car and the effect with view going thrue the class-room window that is recreating the look in the cartoon that's most likely done with a simple effect to mimic a real pan but simplified for technical reasons, but to replicate that in real life they need to digitally synch two different camera-recordings since while it gets the message thrue for a cartoon then in real life it'll look much differently, but they did even that detail for the live-action intro, well done :)

I also noticed a headline saying they are continuing the show for several more seasons, wild, that's one show-record that's not going to be surpassed anytime soon, even if they started to try now lol.

That is one wild take-off and no offence but it looked like the plane was almost near stalling since he/she imidietly levelled out very close to the roof of the off-roader after the initial lift-off, or maybe that was planned? The two firetrucks in the back sure seemed to indicate there existed some worry. But on a related topic, have you guys seen someone trying to land on the roof of a road-train while on the move? Not sure if that clip is online but that was kind-of nuts too, even if it was a much smaller plane, maybe a Cub. Speaking of a Cub I saw an online clip once with someone landing one near his friends in barely a car-length when it finally touched the ground!

It was filmed for the UK market to kick off the new series, which is why the non-US cars. This story should explain things a little  more.

Kinda... you had to be quicker than the Simpson's Lawyers to have seen it.  ;D

But I hear if you go see Ice Age 2, you can see Homer on the big screen in all his yellow glory...They play the teaser trailer in one of the many previews of Ice Age. The trailer is like 30 seconds, so it's not worth spending the $9 for a ticket to Ice Age... that's what my girlfriend says anyway... We'll see about that. Maybe I can borrow my buddies kid, so I don't look like a perv going to see Ice Age by my self...  :D :D :D

Speaking of Ice Age then you can see Cyd as a robot in the background twice in the movie Robots (it's pointed out in the commentary if you can't see it).

Ok.
I LOVED the movie "Ice Age I" so I am definetly going to see the second one. Seen as a pervert or not, I don't care, plus for me it's a tax-write-off (that's right fellas,... "research" !! I am in the cartoon business after all....)

I can't believe the Simpsons are making a movie. I heard it's not out till next year, so it better be good since they're getting everybody hyped up already.

As far as you girlfriend goes Callisto: She doesn't understand your passion for cartoons? WOW! I couldn't be with a girl like that ;D Does she like "Chicken Wings" at least????

Well... she hasn't seen it... I hate to say she might not get it... she knows what a plane is... but she doesn't share my (our) enthusiasm. I can hear her now... "Ok... I guess thats funny..." Its the same thing she says about the Simpsons... She'll probably just roll her eyes at me  ::)

Cest la vie   ;D

I'd say we need a animated jaw-drop smilie and I think one was in the collection I emailed Stef last week so just wait a short while.

About the display: Thank god the cold war is over! I know there are still not the best feelings, at least on the political level, but still. I know the F-22 whatever-name-it-has-now (I have three so far) might have a hidden and visible aircraft stealth/radar team-play but that kind of manouvreability is out of this world. Even with computers isn't it correct that the pilot also has to have some skill? That plane must also have some extreme strength to handle those manouvres I think.

Thanks for the video :)

it shows the impressibe level of aerodynamics it has. it does have fly-by-wire, and trust-vectoring including side-to-side moving capability (wich the F-22 doesn't have) but what's impressive is the engines. I read they have to be very strong to keep working at that high AOA levels (for example, the MIG-29 and the SU family are the only operational planes that can make a cobra, which is the fast-stopping maneouver you see in the video when the a/c goes vertical without climbing). add to this a great pilot and that's what you get

You also need a very strong pilot (or a very fat one :) ).  I think they guy that invented the Cobra maneuver blacked out while he was doing it.  I can't remember the numbers exactly, but I think that's at least a 9G maneuver.
