Interesting Videos
« on: March 04, 2006, 02:22:51 AM »
I thought I'd allow myself to post a thread for videos even though some have already been posted in the picture-thread (that reminds me, who were the military helicopter pilots with that Super Puma(?) ? )

I was looking around and found an insane skydiver! Flyingblind have you or your friends ever done something like this? :D
Warning, pop-ups when you open the window unless you have a blocker.

I was really worried he's get sliced and diced by the prop.

And another one with the theme of flying low! Is it just me or do they sound dutch or something like that?
That last one was insane!! As if the first two wasn't.

That was on the show "Stunt Junkies" or something like that.  That was the guys second try.  The first time he couldn't grab onto the strut like he wanted to and almost went past the airplane.
WOW I did that!

I noticed that site also has the video of the "Great French Lawnmower."  Has everyone seen that?

It's been done so much there's actually a name for it? Wow! Thanks for the info, I was sure you'd know something about it, and I agree with Mike, you guys/gals really are a different breed, my respect!

I tried looking thrue the site but I couldn't find the lawnmower clip, can you get a direct link perhaps? The thread's here for the same :)

And speaking of: Have you seen this video? Does anyone know that there's been a music-video recorded entirely during actual skydiving and not just skydiving but the skydiving bandmemberes were also dressed up, holding props and singing during it thanks to excellent skydiver camerawork!

http://www.jokaroo.com/extremevideos/computer_controlled_plane.html

This was one of the first Airbuses (Airbusi?) to be bought by Air France.  I forget if it was the A319 or 320.  If I remember right, there were 7 people on the plane.

Can you spell Boeing?

Ah that one, yes I saw that years ago on tv, was it really computer-controlled as the site-text says?

Btw, I understand the idea with yout own photo for your avatar and nothing wrong with a Caravan in my oppinion, I just followed Mike's comment which I'd thought of as well (in relation to the posts in the other thread).

LOL, perfect translation, I understand it completely! And might I add: Hey someone go up to the cockpit and push the nedle! (I really hope at least one person understands that joke otherwise I'd feel sooo old hehe).

And the skydiving music video, first ever of it's kind, directed by Lars von Trier btw.

From what I heard after the crash, the pilots pushed the go-around button and advanced the throttles, but the computers didn't allow the engines to spool up, even though the plane was configured for a go-around.  The autopilot held that altitude all the way into the trees.

Hmmm, pretty scary video. I think it's gonna be while before they get rid of pilots completely. We still need them ! even though some are like Chuck, heh heh

I love that song! The lyrics are a little simple, but what a goofy song!
Haven't heard it in ages, thanks Frank

Thanks for the kudos, Frank and Mike.  Just wish Airliners.net had better pictures of airplanes in flight.  Gulfstream.com wants to e-mail their pictures to you, rather than just having them available for download.   :(
