CHOCK HOPPING!
« on: March 11, 2008, 02:17:33 PM »
HAHAAAHA--Yeah, like that's never happened to me  ::rofl::
How embarrassing--especially when it's a fire call and I've had to shut the engines down so I could get out to pull them--a real "professional" moment ::loony::

chuck seems to have a thing with chocks... A few weeks ago, I saw a student pilot pull the same stunt. Of course, everyone at the field happened to be watching him at that moment ;D

This defineately counts as my "Chuck" moment!  Very embarrasing to hop the chocks in a C310 or C414, or even a fully loaded Platypus!   ::unbelieveable:: ::eek::

Most unprofessional of someone to forget those chocks...   ::whistle:: ::whistle:: ::whistle::

Ha well, it's sure "one of those gotchas"....  I haven't managed to do this one yet (Knock on wood -- where IS my head??), but I have MORE than once, checked everything, pulled the prop ties off, and then climbed in to crank, and thought......  "Aw crap"....  and climbed back down to make SURE I really did pull the chocks.....   ::loony::

I know my day is just waiting for me, out there, but at least I have big tires...   should make the resultant "Chuck-Hop" a little easier to do!!!    ::rofl::

 :D    :D    :D    :D    :D    :D    :D
Don't make me come back there!!!!

Yet to do it in an airplane, but I've rolled over a few in trucks. The hollow rubber ones are pretty tough, but run over them enough (especially loaded)
and they'll fall apart, causing all manner of cussin' by the customer.  ::complaining:
