Rod is famous for voicing the instructor in FS2002-FS2004 flight school!
A very funny guy, most of his work now is as a speaker in flight safety seminars..

You know, on my first ride on an airplane (ride, not instruction), the owner felt so confident about me that he let me have the controls up to the flare, and commented me afterwards.. I guess I owe Rod some part of it..

I really wish they got Rod to fly in FSX lessons too instead of that horribly dry boring dude and having one fly like an arcade game in a motor paraglider that doesn't even have a rudder and even less real-world aircraft functions described than in FS2004. Of course, with the clear evidence of very unrealistic twin-engine manouvering, especially at a engine failure at low speed and altitude then I might as well forget FS as a training aid :(

However, I still can't get the video to play, is it maybe a update to the flash softtware that's the problem? At first I thought it saw that I wasn't from the US bit since Mary can't see it either then that probably wasn't it.

Ah, FS2004.
A few times, when he 'had the airplane', I used the mixture to force him to land (sometimes with better results than others).

I think the FS2004 flying lessons are still there on FSX, just that they are under the Help section.. Could be wrong though..

As for the video, probably the problem is not an outdated version of Flash, because I remember seeing it more than one year ago.. If it's the flash, maybe they screwed up the newest version and didn't give it backward compatibility (if I'm sounding like a computer geek, please let me know, I'll like it  ::loony::)

As for "training aid" - you should consider X-Plane Frank.

If you wish to stick with FS, go for some high-quality add-on like RealAir Cessna 172.
