That was the intention, although it was because I was only 99% sure what your real name was so I thought a polite respectful nickname was ok, especially in this crowd.

Thanks for the pm btw and sorry to all for the long time since last post however I've been a bit tired, but I got some coke (the wet brown stuff that's best enjoyed in a glass with ice ;)) so that helped a bit, plus I got some great adventure games on sale so I got something to focus on while waiting.

Just came back from seeing my mom and dude was it really a springtime drive, snow all over the road, almost white thrue the windshield and could spin the wheels from idlespeed with the clutch released, up to 3rd gear even, and not even with half throttle. The ABS got some excercize too, despite stopping much earlier than normal and dnot driving in recent tracks which in this weather is slippery since it's just 0.8C over freezing so the snow was semi slushie and that's really slippery. Over noon it was hot and sunny and I drove with the vent on full cold in the face. The worst was that my brother was on his motorcycle behind me and he had some trouble since a person thought it was just like driving a summerday so he kept half a carlength from my bother when he was doing 30-35 kph on a road covered in snow so there were no stripes to be seen or even the edge of the road (it has a 60kph limit). I got a few photos after comming home and I'll upload them shortly. Just one more comment, man do I miss a rear windshield wiper!

Ok, to my mom. First things first, she's ok and such but still waiting for an EEG result, now here's the story. I guess I haven't updated this a while, but the former saturday she was visited by a county nurse and a doctor that was called to talk to my mom and after talking back and forth, also talking to the hospital ward she was in until that monday, it was then decided she needed to go back to the hospital. She was driven there a few hours later by an ambulance. Sunday morning I was called up the hospital and that they couldn't get in touch with my mom, she didn't respond to anything which is unusual, both if she's really tired or even if she was having an epeleptic seizure. I came out there right after the call and it was indeed true, not a muscle pulled, not a single attempt at a noise from her vocal cords. She finally regained conciesness (probably misspelled) later that afternoon but was really drowsy, even worse than the tuesday, thursday, friday and saturday she was at home but after a few days it was a little better, but still not like she was before, or even that wednesday while she was at home. They'd feared brain hemoragin (spelling?) so they'd scanned her that sunday morning but nothing was there so it wasn't that after the falls where she also hit her head an unknown number of times.

Yesterday the son-in-law and daughter of our old family friends Lis and Niels visited when they were driving past Odense from a family visit and today my mom got a call from Lis who she talked with a long time. My mom is still not at full strength and no word yet on what on earth is the matter but hopefully the EEG will tell something. My mom however got word that she will come home in 3 days or so, by then the county nursing staff should be ready to come several times a day to help my mom with everything she needs, medicin, bathing etc.

Michael and I will be comming to the doctor rounds tomorrow before noon to hear in closer detail how our mom is doing and hopefully then the EEG results will have arrived and we can talk with the doctor about how she's doing and what the imediate plan of action is.

Needless to say, while I was close to send an email to the flight school to talk in closer detail about the practice flight then the news of my mom's condition that sunday morning put a halt to it. At least my brother and I have had some fun driving on local computer network in a good old cargame called Need For Speed 4 (it's 10 years old but still fun and it's easy to make new cars for it and there are fun copchases in it (note: despite the news saying so, Need For Speed has never ever had the goal of driving people down or stealing cars, in fact there are no pedestrians in the game and you can't steal another car on the road, that's Grand Theft Auto, not NFS)).

I'll try to see if I can get in the chat sometime, I miss the good people.

Just a bit off-top - I also enjoy good ole NfS 4 and 6 (HP2) - even better with all the memories.... ::whistle:: too bad you are on local network, I would be glad to drive with you a bit (maybe Hamachi can help?)

Edit: I am on the chat ATM so maybe we can talk it there - will be for at least until 2215

Ok then (btw this is not an april fool's joke), my mom came home yesterday and today she still hasn't fallen at least, although as expected and against her promises she's flown low all over the house trying to get things done. It seems she won't get as much help as was hoped, only part of it. Michael and I are still trying to get her to calm down but our options are limited.

Frank, I'm sure you know this, but we all hope that your Mom continues to make progress, and things get back to normal soon for all of you.

Which, of course, is more than can be expected for THIS bunch of your friends.  HA!!!    ::loony::    ::rofl::

Please give her our best, from all of the places where she's being thought of!   :)

Don't make me come back there!!!!

Just an update, apart from my mother having a bad coughing fit last night where I called a nurse out and my mom's temperature was high then she's doing fairly well under the circumstances. No falls so far and she's been eating and sleeping but still with a clearer head than last time, almost like before she was hospitalized. We also got the finances sorted and I'm sticking with running a solo economy from now on. No idea yet though on when next flight is possible.

Well my mom is now good, but it looked very bad just some days ago.

That temperature kept rising, and monday the home nurse called a doctor out but he said there was no need to go to the hospital and there was no infection as the nurse was suspecting. However neither one of us liked that call was on alert and just a few hours later I came into my mom's room after hearing noises and found her completely out of touch, sounding like she was trying to moan in pain but had it sound choked, also like there was fluid in her lungs and I called 112 on the spot and they quickly sent an ambulance and a doctor-ambulance (here it's a marked Mercedes ML with lights and sirens with a doctor and assistant to give a fast diagnosis on location). After checking her up and not getting in touch with her my mom was driven to the hospital with lights and sirens just after 11PM. That morning we were called by the hospital saying our mom had a 40C fewer, 1C from fatal, and they weren't sure if she'd survive. Holy hell was I shaking like crazy, and only partly because I was woken up after having gotten just a few hours sleep. She did however survive but it wasn't fun seeing her in pain and burning up for hours! She was so hot I couldn't even hold 1 fingertip on her face for more than half a second before it hurt. She was completely out of it, as she was when she was picked up by the ambulance and moaning in pain kind of on and off like she was going in and out of conciousness. She did wake up later that day but wasn't really all there until a day or two later (she couldn't remember much until then, not even that we were there). They found out she had a low bloodlevel and gave her four doses of blood (about 1L total) and a few days later she's now clear in the head (as much as possible after the braincell damage from the long seizures etc.). They found she indeed had an infection, something the original doctor who was called out should have noticed (it was the catheter, and the contents of the bag was clearly evident of an infection just by looking at it). She's getting antibiotics for three infections and is so far doing ok. We're all suspecting it could be the lack of the promised home help that caused the infection in the first place since personal hygiene and catheter help etc. was something the hospital had said she should get as well as more, but she only got 1 person that put out a bottle of water and a morning breadroll and that's it. No checking she got her pills taken, bathroom help etc. And now they're on strike so they won't come (both home help from the county and most nurses in hospitals, except the ward my mom is on since it's life-threating).
