ZOA (Oakland Center) is pretty notorious around the nation as being some of the most disgruntled, ill mannered, and generally horrible controllers out there.
That's funny, I've never really had any troubles with Oakland. Albuquerque Center and Approach would get my vote. I always feel sorry for those guys because they sound so miserable over the radio. Just don't muck with them or you'll be put in a holding pattern at 11,000 MSL over Payson AZ in the middle of a thunderstorm!
