Title: Mile-size UFO spotted by two pilots over England

Ok as we all know (at least this group) then UFO simply means unidentified flying object and not alien extraterrestial technology, but a 1 mile aircraft? That's wild, even for an airship!  Interesting that a non-moving object is ignored by ATC radar, but what about before and after? Seriously though, a lot of sightings have been light etc. that people have mistaken as something solid but I don't know any further details about where it was seen to see if there was any other news. Btw, 1 mile object, also reminds me of the flying bases in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

Btw, while on the subject of extra-terrestial life then I also just heard they've finally found an earth-like planet (size, temperature, day/night-rhythm etc. suitable for life to evolve) so we're one step further to see if there might be life elsehwere. So far the new planet is just known as Earth Version-2. Earth 2 anyone? When they first said that they'd found a earth-like planet and described it then I kind-of expected to hear it referred as a Class M planet :D

Frank, I think that "earth like planet" is only "earth like" in that it has oxygen.  I want to say it's twice as close to its sun as we are and has some extremely hot temperatures.

Unless we're talking about different ones.

Don't forget the one that was spotted at Chicago O'Hare by multiple airline personel last year!

I remember an article talking about how they are really upset becuase the FAA said "it wasn't on radar, so it didn't exist" and that was the extent of the investigation.

Sounds like all they know so far is that there's a planet there and everything else is a guess.  ;)

Read the article again---it's "sun" is a red dwarf and the mean temps are 71 to 134 degrees F

I did, and now I'm wondering if I was reading an article about another planet....

I do notice in that article there are a lot of "ifs" for that temperature range to be correct.   ::silly::

Yeah, I too wonder about a scientific "fact" whose evidence arrived here after something like 22,000 years (or whatever--I don't remember) at the speed of light which to me is like explaining to me what beans taste like because they detected a fart in Antactica

I thought that movie was a bust. Boring plot line, and in the end the bastard ends up leaving his family to go on a spaceship. Nice father. I hope they probed him!! ::loony:: ::loony:: ::loony:: ::loony::

The crowning moment of the entire movie was when he makes Devil's tower out of a mound of mashed potato's.  That image has stuck with me for almost 15 years.  You have to see it, such a great movie!

Star Wars only had aliens and all species knew each other already so there was no big encounter with a whole new species no-one knew existed (at least I think that's what was meant by Alien Encounter movie).
