I guess if you can't see out the window, that isn't too good. But it was normal for 8-10-year-old kids back home to drive tractors and trucks, it was necessary on the farm. I got to drive my first tractor at age 11 and it wasn't hard though I still remember being nervous about the huge hay wagon attached when I got to the big hill. I personally find it pretty pathetic when I hear parents getting all wigged out about 18-year-olds driving in snowstorms, etc., but if you don't expect people to perform, then they don't. I know several teenagers here who are expected to maintain the workload of a 4-year-old. Just my 2 cents' worth.
::whistle::

There's a difference between a tractor going 15 mph and a car that'll go 80, though. Yeah, the girl could probably mow the lawn just fine, but I think it's a little much to expect her to drive a car safely.
I'll see your 2 cents and raise a nickel. ;)

When I first read that I read it as "a girl could probobly mow the lawn just fine, but..." and started wondering exactly how long it was going to take SoccerMom to arrive at your doorstep with a crowbar. ;)
I started driving around young too... but I wasn't driving down the interstate in the middle of the night either. ;)

THE girl. THE girl is the key phrase there. I realize that women of most ages can do yard work if they want to. I'm not saying they have to. I mean...crap.
Fire away S'Mom!

I saw a weird plane today I hadn't seen before. All sleek looking, a twin turboprop. Was told it was a Dornier.... 128 maybe? Neat looking high wing.
Apparently it's up here on the fire contract as a jump plane...

Yup the Do-228, also known more widely as "The Doorknob"...... liked for its faster speed and air conditioning, but disliked by many as well, for the speed also makes for more work on the exits and more potential for a twist...... but built like a tank, the drivers tell me....

So the non airconditioned T.O goes to the hottest part of the country... while the air conditioned airplane goes to Alaska? ::silly::
