Title: Move Over Rover and let the chick fly! (march 20th strip)
Post by: Frank N. O. on March 20, 2007, 10:43:53 AM
Haha, ok now it's pretty much confirmed that the yellow biplane is indeed Alex' plane, and she's got brains too! 8)  ::bow:: |:)\

I must say though that I agree with her comment on Chuck, he really is dense, so dense light bends around him! (physics-joke, if he heard it would would probably fly right thrue Chuck's head like a sugestion from Julio on how to take care of the planes)

Great strip once again guys  |:)\
Frank

P.S. Not to act as dumb as Chuck but what type of plane is she flying? An S-2?

If I was Chuck, I would be immediately be thinking "Ooohh.....twins!!!!  My odds of hooking up have just gotten better!!!"

I would not be surprised if it were his thought! :) :)

Great strip mates!  |:)\

At least she seemed a bit friendlier to him this time.  ;)

And even if he was dense, I think he did a better job of being a "nice" dense.    :D

I'm thinking it looks more like a Skybolt, just without the enclosed cockpit.

P.S.  Didn't I suggest at one point that alex have a hot little bipe?  :P

well OF COURSEit had to be a hot little plane!

I think we had a Pitts Special or a Christen Eagle planned. But this one might work as well.
So far we haven't shown the plane enough to show the type completely... oh... and also, it's a cartoon plane, so it won't be an exact match!  ;)

Should we vote on what plane she's flying as well?

You mean you don't devote every waking hour to ensuring that every aircraft that ever appears isn't 100% true to life and historically accurate?!    :o

Blasphemy!    :D

Don't underestimate your babybrother's drawing abilities. Remember the Piper Twin? That was ID'ed fast! |:)\

Cardinal, Commander, Catalina or Legacy 2000 (Lancair). Or if you're talking a helicopter then an A-Star or Gazelle  8) |:)\

Right on, like this  Canary:

With this type cockpit: ::bow::

DonYan |:)\ ::wave::

Well the Knight Twister is one of my favorite looking biplanes (the cockpit shot is from one).  But only a single seat and Budd Davison tells me they're tiny, even compared to a pitts S-1.   :o

Thanks for the input guys. I seem to have lost my brother the last 2 days ...
He's probably buried under stacks of papaer drawing pictures of chickens. But I'll have him look at this thread

Blasphemy!    :D

...here we go with the big words again!  ::banghead::   "blasfer.... blobbdy.....what?"   ::wave::

Hey DonYan!!  NICE shots there, thanks!  I was looking for something pretty, like you have there.  I guess I should really learn how to search for stuff, eh?

A long time ago I got to ride with a good aerobatic pilot in his gorgeous Starduster.  What a blast!  A total rush.  I'll see if I can find the pictures.  I was walking into walls for a few days afterward (uh, I mean, even more than usual....)

You're SO RIGHT...  why is it so much FUN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!      ::drinking::

A guy I grew up with has a Starduster... Nice Bird, of course his "day" job lets him fly a pretty hot machine too.... He's an F-16 pilot for the Vermont Air guard.

Oh boy! I really do that sometimes! My girlfriend sometimes calls me nuts when she sees me fiddling with my pens, surrounded by my aircraft encyclopedia and hundreds of prints (thank you Google image search!). It's a great feeling if the plane really looks accurate, but usually it's never a 100%... Alex' pane was supposed to be a Pitts Special, but I have to admit that it could be any of the other models you posted. Actually the plane should have been red, but when I started drawing the strip with the plane in it, I already had the ones before colored, and gave her a red shirt... Wouldn't have looked good, so now she ended up with a yellow plane!  ;D Maybe if it had been red, peopl would have rather guessed a Pitts?!

¿You mean the Papaer made from PalmTree bark that you import from Palau? ::rofl:: ::rofl:: ::rofl::
DonYan >:D
Uhm.. yeah! Palm Tree bark from Palau!! How did you guess that?!? You didn't think that I'd draw Chicken Wings on common paper!  ::sulk::  ;D

One of my professors here, Gulf you might know who im talking about, ust to fly star dusters.  From the stories he told us, they seem to be the most amazing planes in world.  Capable of like +11g and -5 or so with all the mods he and his stunt crew ran.  That guy is a genius too.  Has a PhD in like astrophysics and flies on the weekend for Pepsi in their new gulf stream.

Ahhh... I have loved the Knight Twister ever since I saw one at Grimes Field back in 1950 or so.  Don't see many though.

Tom Zedlick ( I think thats how you spell his last name).  I had him for 102, and he teaches 220/221 as well as aerodynamics and advanced aerodynamics, and also a couple of other really crazy classes to.  Probably one of the funniest guys i know, however also one the biggest pains in your rear end to.

I think he started just as I was leaving.  I had Trapnell for my aerodynamics courses.
