It was a matter of seconds, but I couldn't really see anything because my eyes were full of tears. That is hilarious!
I think I may have ruptured something, like a spleen.......
Thanks for the laugh!!!!!!!!! 8)

So if we count the time it took my slow connection to load it then I score a whooping 30 minutes, if not it was only about 15 seconds.

Must be SAD syndrom. I didn't find it all that funny either. This one however really cracked a smile on me. http://www.glumbert.com/media/graphicartists

must be an "Alaska" syndrom . . . ;)
I noticed all the firefighters in the forum here thought it was funny. Could it have something to do with having our brains fried in the sun?? (heh heh)
The graphincs thing is reall cool! Being a pilot AND a guy, I LOVE the Lady Liberty pic the best of course ! ;) (..but it wasn't an LOL moment more like "wow that pretty cool")

S.A.D. = Seasonal Affective Disorder also known as Cabin Fever, mid winter Bla's, winter depression etc. Suffered to some extent by all of us in the north country.

That's a really convenient one, but I havn't actually had any problems about the sun. Going up to FL200 and higher on a regular basis, we see it often enough. ;)
In this case there's a simpler explanation for me... I'd just gotten through postiing some stuff about the pilot friend of mine whose funeral I attended, there wasn't much that was going to get me to crack a smile at that point. Just still regretted my timing, as I had set aside a week to go see him and he died the week before... I could tell that it'd normally be funny, but it's not really hard to keep from laughing when you are in a somber mood.
Side note: today Galena and downriver got rain on top of their snow etc with temps just around freezing (about 1-2 degrees C) . Basically it's like landing and taxiing and walking on a skating rink. Anyway, I managed to not fall down once on that stuff. Where did I fall down? First thing in the morning on our ramp in Fairbanks where we didn't get rain. ::banghead::
I've got some Danner winter boots, and apparently Danner never considered that if you're wearing cold weather boots you might be dealing with *snow* or *ice* and left boots that just around have horrible traction... asking around it seems that most winter boots are like that, you have to go to less insulated boots to get the good traction...

Hey, uhm... speaking of Alaska:
Where is your buddy "cj5 pilot" ??
Haven't seen him in quite a while... Is he hybernating? waiting out the winter somewhere?

Your heavey pack boots will be better in a foot of snow than on ice. Walking on ice is easy, as long as you keep your weight centered and don't move too fast. You'll excercise muscles you didn't even know you had walking and falling on the ice. ;)

I hear you there. I usually wear lightly insulated hunting style boots with good wool socks most of the winter. I only get my packs out when I know I'll be outside, and inactive for long periods. Or when it's -40, then I wear them anytime I'm out and bring a pair of light shoes to wear in the office.

Well I talked with him last night, so I know he's still alive. I think he's just busy with other stuff these days, you might look for him on "City of Villians". I think he usually goes under the name Dago Red when gaming. Either that or he's scrambling to get his CJ-7 ready for summer. ::cowboy::
