Title: Flying and Farting

There are roughly two types of fart - silent, also known as sneaking, and loud.
The average person farts about 10 times a day.
Women's farts smell way worse than men's.
Sulphur containing gasses are responsible for the pong.
Burning the gas does reduce the smell but lighting farts is not recommended on land or in a plane.
Exercising the pelvic ring is essential to maintain the ability to fart silently.
For people with a weak pelvic floor, decoys can be performed such as coughing, sneezing, verbal outbreaks or spontaneous applause.
Trying to hold in farts can result in discomfort, bloating, high blood pressure, dyspepsia and pyrosis.

Let 'em rip, if you must!

It has been scientifically proven that if you consciously hold in your farts, they will be absorbed by the lower spine, then they travel up the spinal column into the brain, and that is where shitty ideas come from.   ::drinking::

I'm pretty sure most airliners are designed with this problem in mind. The pressurized air vents to the side of the cabin at the floor. Of course, the people nearest you might still be aware. Nonetheless, the calibrated leak from the pressurizing systems should do a reasonably good job of keeping the air fresh in airliners.

Agreed, mixing a diet consisting of mainly MREs and large quantities of alcohol can lead to multiple cases of Catastrophic Sphincter Valve Failure.

There is a Dragonfly VW aircraft on the ramp at KSAF so I know VW aircraft are flying here. One of our EAA members flies a KR also, not sure if he has a VW in it however. -Pete
