We're having another contest! Tell us about your favorite strip and enter to win a Silver Chicken!
It is still our 10th anniversary year and we thought we should have another event to celebrate with you guys. So we decided to give away one of the last few remaining "Silver Chicken" coins that we had minted for this occasion and have another contest for you!
This one is an easy one and everybody gets one vote.
Simply tell us which one of our comic strips is your favorite and you’re automatically entered for the drawing of another Silver Chicken!

My definitive vote will go for strip 456 : Magnum P.I. marathon.
I still can remember the Hugues 500 colors and wonderful scenes of the Magnum series. When someone speak about a Hughes 500 helicopter, this is the mental image I always have.
I got the same kind of mental image when someone speak about Bell 222, I cannot help seeing Airwolf (Supercopter for the European). Probably watch too much TV series when i was younger. I guess that it would be my color scheme If I end up owning a Hughes 500.

This contest is pure torture for me. How can you tell just one. The one of kvdp_vliegt would be on my top 5 list. The quick joke about "v" formation beeing longer on one side got me to spill cofee on my computer keyboard.
If I must choose one, I must take it from the historical serie. Not sure it ever was on this site or if I got it from a book but the one that explain the first noise complain (mother of wright brothers complaining) is so good. OK, I have to choose one. Here it goes:

This is really interesting so far! I won't name and names, but some of the strips are among my favorites but there were already a couple of strips mentioned which we even hesitated to post, because we thought they weren't good enough...

New Forum member, but been a diehard fan for a few years since a fellow pilot friend of mine put me on to the strip. I look forward everyday to getting the strip... always puts a smile on my face and makes me thing back to my flying days!
So tough to pick, 324, 401, 465, 20, 52, the Chinook one... I could go on and on... I think though that my vote (at least today) goes to 324 - "Buzz the Tower" made me laugh and brought me back to my days in a 152 where I thought I was pretty special too.... ;-)

My favorite strip is the February 5th 2008 strip "No Ice". Chuck is flying the 172 and in the last frame it turns out snow is settling on the wings. It was such a shock when I got to the final frame that I snorted my coffee out my nose.

Any of the "Chuck, is that you?" strips are my favorites! I and a few others are attempting to turn that into a running gag on ATC frequencies. Just the other day I listened to an FO mistakenly give his before landing passenger briefing on 121.5 in both English AND Spanish! Sure enough, once he ended I keyed up my mike: "Chuck, is that you?" was broadcast out over the south Texas countryside. >:D
I don't know how to access the archives, but my favorite series of strips ends with Chuck being intercepted over Washington DC by F16's and one of the fighter pilots has a sign that read, "Chuck, is that you?" All Time Classic!
My other favorite would be when Chuck and Julio were bringing the Twin Otter into Santa Barbara, and when Approach asked for their position Chuck replied, "Approach, I am Chief Pilot at Roost Air". "Chuck, is that you?" was ATC's response, natch! ;D
This week's strip ranks right up there too... ::thinking::

Hey guys, I would have to say that my favorite strip so far is the first one that I saw, Comic #196, the one mimicking the MasterCard commercial. As a new pilot I know exactly how Chuck feels. I am just looking for any job in which I don't have to pay to fly.

Hi all, glad to finally post something here.
My favourite strip is "Why is the “V” longer on one side?" (363) - I always use it to joke with friends when I see flock of duxks in flight :)

I follow Chicken Wings maybe for two or three years... great comic! And my favorite strip is number 177 (cw0429) I find it the pinnacle of Chuck's flying skills!

I started flying about the time of the ZX81 flight sim - and stopped some years after to appease my Bank Manager :'( Simming has kept me sane(ish) ever since. I now work for a company that sells pilot equipment and flight sim stuff. We have one A320 Rated guy working here who loves Chicken Wings but does not realise that he IS Chuck. He has killed himself the last three times I saw him in a sim. Once we were officially flight testing a full motion machine as ordered by the big boss (real hardship that ;D) Chuck - Sorry Mr B managed to fly down a blind valley near Innsbruck. You can guess the rest.

I have flown into my fair share of blind vallies while VFRin around the Alps in the sim. It was frustrating enough in the PC sim.. wonder how would I be if I were to do that in full motion sim.

the one where the FAA guy shows up and says "I'm here to help" and then Chuck says "we're happy to see you" and then they both laugh is a classic !!!

Has to be this one as I am somewhat partial to putting stickers and logos on our helicopters and begging forgiveness from PP afterwards...:
come on, it's the weekend, man! ;) Stef's out of town today and I was traveling yesterday.
we have to collect all the names entered and assign them numbers so we can roll the dice Also we want to keep track of all the strips that were mentioned.
What I'm finding interesting so far is that everybody has a different favorite strip. There are only 3 repeats in there . . . . Not sure what I was expecting but yeah.... interesting.....

I reckon I better go to a casino tonight and see if my luck holds! Hehe. I am spending the night in Shreveport LA while on a 4 day job, so at least there's a few casinos around where I can give it another shot.
I am honored to be the lucky winner of the roll of the dice. I will have to mount it and put it up above my fireplace. Will post pics when that is done.
