Title: CHICKEN WINGS PHOTO CONTEST!
Post by: Mike on October 31, 2011, 02:01:39 AM
Dear fellow aviators, aviatrixes, and general fowl of all kind!
WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER CONTEST!!
We are sure that all of you have taken cool aviation photographs before and some of you even cool chicken pics. We want to see them!! Send us you coolest, or funniest, or weirdest, or bad-assest, or awesomest aviation photo OR chicken photo OR a combination thereof and win our new pure (well almost, it's .999) 10 year anniversary coin! We will announce the winner on the 15th of November with the contest closing the night of the 14th.
On to the rules!
No raunchy or XXX rated pictures please! ("chicks" are fine as long as they have at least feathers covering their bodies) No "pics" you found somewhere on the internet! Use your own material! Leave a name or email address so we can get a hold of you if you're posting in facebook or writing us (well, we'll probably get your email address if you're emailing us, but uh.....nevermind) You can post multiple pics, but try not to post thousands!
We wanna see some cool photography!
The book will come out soon but in the meantime we have found another cool prize for you! Who knows how much this will be worth one day?!
Here is what your prize will look like:

Our version of the Heritage flight flypast a Euro Fighter Typhoon and Spitfire: (http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt83/Oddballsco/IMGP1233.jpg)
One from last years Flying Legends a French F4U Corsair (http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt83/Oddballsco/IMGP0909.jpg)
and that's my lot unless I'm allowed a few more? ;D

Not really a high quallity pic, but the location is a bit special:
Made this summer. Hint: the longitude is meaningless here :)
[and to take away all doubt, it's on the Northern Hemisphere]

Nice picture and in my dictionnary, that one would fall on the "high rez/quality" category.
Question: what is the device strapped on the wing strut?

A movie camera that stopped working an hour before I reached the Pole, due to the (freezing) water in some clouds i flew through. Luckily my inside camera was still working :)

What's the email address I should send my pictures to? I would post them, but they're a bit big and would really slow down the page (Plus if I make them smaller then a lot of the little details on the aircraft disappear).

Flyvboy, your pictures are wonderfull and I wish one of the glider one win. It would be great that a glider picture win a price with "In thrust we trust" written on it :)

Download "picassa" from google... it is free and you can "export" pics to any size and still keep the original as is.

the old dog and car conundrum, now that I've caught it what do I do with it: (http://public.s3.charlie.at/2011/201111-cw-comp/20060909_d700080_oeamtc_kw000.jpg)
d-iedo landing on the 09 in loxn: (http://public.s3.charlie.at/2011/201111-cw-comp/DSC_5164-kw010.jpg)
a nice sunrise on the airfield: (http://public.s3.charlie.at/2011/201111-cw-comp/20111010-00021-sunrise-kw010.jpg)

Not having a gps, I rely on a GCN, a global chicken navigator. With it I have flown up,down and across Europe :)
(http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v41/97/124/38407499/n38407499_31042436_4903.jpg) When I took this picture, this was the world's last flying C-133. It flew a couple times a year. A few years ago a museum in California bought it and flew it down there, never to fly again.
Sometimes in the arctic, you have to descend down between layers to ever see the sun in a day. (http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v51/97/124/38407499/n38407499_31278494_3297.jpg)

Great pictures all around! Meanwhile, I just can't reduce my selection to a reasonable number - there's finding out it's damn hard to choose <10 "best of" shots :( Oh well, I still have the end of the day left to make up my mind...
