Title: A rough week in aviation
Post by: Ragwing on June 22, 2011, 03:53:07 AM
Boeing fuselages were dodging tornadoes, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUjNd2v_HIo&feature=player_embedded (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUjNd2v_HIo&feature=player_embedded) You can see the train in the background and the Boeing 737 fuselages (the end with more light under it is the tail).
Most of the fuselages appear to be fine. One fuselages had a train car rammed up it's tail.
But Airbus did not escape unscaled also. Only one month after an A380 ran over a commuter jet, They did it again. This time, they ran into a building..... And the building did not dodge! (http://www.airlinereporter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/A380-FB.jpg)
Airbus snuck the damage aircraft out of town......

I agree it's not a good week for aviation . . .
but am I the only one who thinks the wing-tip being stuck in the side of the building is kinda funny? Kinda in a "Chuck, is that you?" kind of way? Especially with the wing-symbol (or wing-tip symbol) or sign right next to it??

Hehe, true :P
Acoording to airbus, the A380 was cleared for that taxiway by the tower, and was perfectly centered, so somewhere, someone's probably been unable to handle his/her measuring equipment properly, or someone up in the tower has been sleeping... But apparently, the aircraft is back at Le Bourget today, and flying again. (Helps when your factory is nearby :P)

Airbus had a run of bad luck one with the A380 the other with a gearbox failure on the A400M transport that was meant to display at the same airshow.

70 mph winds damaged some airliners at ORD as well when they were struck by debris.
