Title: LOOK OUT QUEENSLAND!!!!!!
Post by: gibbo_335 on February 02, 2011, 04:59:41 AM
:o Cyclone Yasi is nearing the Queensland Coast, it has been upgraded to a CAT5 cyclone, this storm is as dangerous as Katrina and more destructive then Tracey in 1974 when it leveled Darwin.
Prayers and thoughts to all my friends in Far North Queensland

At my old forum we've been talking about this a while now since several of the founding members are from Down Under including Chris (Avro707C) and Rob (AccadaccA), and Rob actually lives in Queensland and he's been reporting how things are and showing pictures in this topic: http://www.racerplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18274 his description about how everyone from neighbours to the military working non-stop to help each other just brings a tear of joy to your eye.
As I wrote there then I really hope things won't be as bad as they look, and Rob does say there was ample warning time and systems in place that have worked well in the past.

Thoughts and prayers to all that are there. Have faced a hurricane a few times myself, but looks like these poor souls are getting a double whammy with the floods too.
